Dale has had extensive experience as a director and producer both here in the UK and in his native New Zealand. His directing credits include: theatre, film, music promos and television (including the sell-out season of King of Stains) and the NZ Fringe Festival hits and multi award winning Anorak of Fire and Saving Grace and the television drama Tigerplay. His short films Museum and Nightfall received critical acclaim at screenings throughout the world while his latest film, The Man on the side of the Road, is due for release later this year. He currently has a number of feature film projects in various stages of development with his production company, Jigsaw Productions, both in the UK and in New Zealand.

In 2004 he took up the position of Executive Director of Glasgow Media Access Centre. Through this position he works very closely with film industry funders: Scottish Screen, Skillset and the UK Film Council, managing an annual budget of £350,000 and delivering a number of initiatives, including commissioning up to ten new short films per year from emerging film makers.
